If you believe your pet requires emergency veterinary care, contact us immediately. Our veterinarian will assess your pet’s health to provide them with the necessary care.

Preparing Your Pet for Surgery

Ensure that your pet is clean and well-groomed. A clean and well-groomed pet is less likely to contract a post-surgery infection than a dirty and unkempt pet. Furthermore, ensure that your pet eats dinner no later than 8:00 PM. On the day of surgery, please do not feed your pet in the morning.

Cats and dogs lose their swallowing ability when under anesthesia. If the pet had a full stomach before going under, then the stomach may contract, forcing vomit up. Make sure your pet has a safe, comfortable place in your home to rest and recover after surgery. Our veterinarian will walk you through the surgery process and answer any questions you have as they arise.
